IKEA, Sylvia Park

Project Budget: $407 Million
Completion Date: Late 2025
Location: Sylvia Park, Mt Wellington, Auckland
Client / Builder: IKEA/Ingka Group (Ingka Investments) / Naylor Love

About the project:
New Zealand’s first IKEA store, and the furthest IKEA from Sweden anywhere in the world. The 34,000 m² large-format store spans three levels with ground-floor parking and is bigger than 8 of the 10 Australian “big blue box” stores. Built under a construction management contract led by Naylor Love, the structure took around 5,000 tonnes of structural steel. The store opened to record crowds on 4 December 2025 with 500 staff and more than 7,500 products.
